Real Estate Agent / Broker — onboarding guide

Your goal: advise clients on insurability before they bid, manage your pipeline and clients in one place, and hand over branded, client-ready reports.

New to CoverGuard? Do Getting started first. This guide is your first-week playbook as an agent.

What your workspace looks like

Agents get the full professional workspace:

  • Search / Shop by budget — property lookup and budget-first discovery.
  • Property — saved properties and generated reports.
  • Dashboard — greeting → command bar → Do next (carrier exits, renewals,

stalled deals, aging quotes) → today's KPIs → your work (deal pipeline + clients) → deeper insights on demand.

  • Agents — digital agents that run recurring jobs for you (pre-bid checks,

best-coverage scans). Ships paused; activate the ones you want.

  • Toolkit — calculators plus agent CRM tools (CMA builder, MLS lookup, commission

calculator, and more).

  • Sys Admin — integrations (CRM/MLS sync), developer/API, feature-flag controls.

Plus the AI Advisor everywhere.

Your first week

1. Set up your branding

Open Account (top-right avatar) → Company Branding. Add your logo, company name, and brand color. The app co-brands for you (your logo sits beside the CoverGuard mark), and your branded reports carry your brokerage identity. See Branded reports & sharing.

2. Add your clients

Open the Clients section on your Dashboard. Add each client — you can paste a contact and let AI parse it into fields. Assign saved properties to clients and track their current insurance and renewal dates. See Clients & deals.

3. Build your deal pipeline

Create Deals and move them through stages. When a deal falls out, record the fallout reason — your Pipeline + fallout stats feed the dashboard and analytics.

4. Run a pre-bid property check

This is the core value: Search an address (or use natural language), read the answer-first report, and tell your client in seconds whether it's insurable, which carriers bind it, and roughly what coverage costs. See Property report.

5. Generate and share a branded report

From a property, generate a branded PDF report with your logo and notes, or create a secure share link (stays live for 90 days) to send a client or lender. Choose which sections appear.

6. Let the alerts that protect your deals run

On a Professional plan, two monitors run automatically — there's no toggle to flip. They surface on your Dashboard (a carrier-exit widget + the "Do next" triage):

  • Carrier-exit alerts — you're pinged when a carrier stops writing on a saved

property's market. Trigger: save the property.

  • Renewal alerts — escalating reminders (60/30/7 days) as a client's policy

renewal approaches. Trigger: set the client's renewal date.

See Alerts.

7. Activate a digital agent

Open Agents. Your recommended set (≈5 for agents) is pre-installed but paused. Click Activate on one — e.g. a scheduled pre-bid or best-coverage scan — and it'll run on a schedule and send you a plain-language briefing. See Digital agents.

8. Connect your tools (optional)

In Sys Admin → Integration Hub, connect your CRM or MLS for bi-directional sync, or use the Auto-Mapping tool to ingest an external API and map its fields to CoverGuard. See Integrations.

Working with your team

If your brokerage has multiple people, buy seats and invite them under Account → Settings → Team. Members inherit your plan. See Teams, seats & billing.

Tips

  • The Dashboard "Do next" hero is your morning triage — it surfaces the single

most important action across exits, renewals, stalled deals, and aging quotes.

  • Use the AI Advisor to draft a client-ready insurability summary, suggest which

properties to compare, or roll up a client's activity.

  • Analytics shows your search volume, risk distribution, and quote funnel —

useful for pipeline reviews. See Analytics.

Troubleshooting quick hits

  • "A pro feature is locked." — Client management, quotes, analytics, reports,

deals, and alerts require a paid tier. See Billing & plans.

  • "My digital agent didn't run." — It's probably still paused, or the

background worker/queue isn't configured. See AI & agents.

Do this next

Run a pre-bid check on a live listing and hand the client a branded report — that one move shows the whole value in a single conversation.

Now AI-native

From hazard report to real carrier quotes & pricing

The CoverGuard Advisor reads the risk, finds the carriers writing it, and pulls back live quotes — with every number sourced and auditable.
